Voiceover always surprises me with its diversity and opportunity, which is why I love doing it and find it a privilege, especially when you get an email from one of your producer contacts, asking you if you’d be happy to answer the following questions:
- What barriers to fitness have you experienced as a woman? Any fear of judgment?
- How have you overcome these barriers?
- How have you found freedom through movement? How does being active make you feel?
I was really chuffed to be selected to voice one of the campaign adverts running on Smooth Radio, for This Girl Can as I think it’s a brilliant initiative. Any brand or organisation that incorporates real experiences into their content gets a thumbs up from me. Being authentic when I voice is a huge part of my ethos and when I’ve been fortunate to be part of the creative process, it is an absolute treat.
My friend told me I’d made peeing myself sexy! If it gets people feeling less ashamed of something which for me has been pretty debilitating at times as I used to love running all the time and it’s just not possible for long distances, I hope this little piece of work helps others.
